The Primeval atom wake up with a rumble
“A Bubble, a bubble, my universe for a bubble.”
Albert Einstein will arrive,
Fifteen Billion years after,
Yet his E equals MC squared was there
Energy into matter and matter to energy.
Quarks and Glucons; Baryons and Leptons.
And of course the Photons.
Breaking of symmetry-the survival of the fittest.
The Euphoria of energy was over
matter and materialism took over.
Matter, matter everywhere
But not a drop to . . . . . .
To what?
The Bubble expands.
Stars, galaxies, pulsars and quasars
and the cosmic dust – the creator and the destroyer !
Wordsworth will be born, ten billion years hence.
But the milky way was there, though not the daffodils.
In the end is the beginning;
A star ceased to live; no man was there to see.
Man will come after five billion years.
The sun was there, young and green
And the baby earth too in its arms.
Women will come four billion years after
Yet the fury of volcanoes was there.
Methane and Ammonia – hot and noxious
zooming and fuming.
Then came Amoeba – the darling of the earth.
You and I, and all life around.
And unbroken chain of amoeba.
Three billion years old,
As the poet said, “The trees are our brothers, and the rocks are our cousins.”
The bubble cools as it expands,
Continents were then united.
‘Ekta aur Akhandata’ – The Gondwana land
But nations will break apart
200 million years later,
The dinosaurs stood on Earth, and the continents broke apart.
Amoeba, blue green algae and turtles,
potatoes, onions and cucumbers.
Tyranosaurus, protosaurus and field mouse.
Owls, vultures and modern man,
Natural selection made man the master of all,
Fire, wheel and organized agriculture man did make.
Arson, sabotage and famine,
will come ten thousand years after.
The bubble expands and cools.
Crick and waston and the genetic code
Recombinant DNA with the nuclear bomb.
Unnatural selection may make
The frogs – Kings and men – menial slaves.
By the year a billion and five A.D.
The sun will be a red giant balloon.
The earth will brave its warm embrace.
In the year ten billion and forty A.D.
And when the sun dies.
Will there be afternoons left behind?
Is the bubble slowing down?
The bubble will burst one day
perhaps 20 billion years hence
The stars and galaxies, you and I will rush towards the tiny dot.
The big crunch will sing a lullaby
To put the atom to sleep again !
Will the atom sleep forever?
It may wake up again with a rumble,
And then it will be all as
I have said all over !
And this poem, you will read again,
In the year, 50 Billion AD
